I helped out with some retainer jobs during the rebranding of Benugo, whilst at my placement at Ico Design.
The new More4 idents, produced by ManvsMachine launch today. They look fantastic!
“Vernacular Typography is a digital archive and community-based initiative dedicated to the documentation, preservation, and promotion of vanishing examples of lettering in the everyday environment. It seeks to explore, protect, and support the typographic environment in cities around the world that retain their rich traditions of vernacular signage.”
This work is the result of the a one week brief based around Branding and identity. I was given an animal at random (I received Anglerfish) and had to design a logo based around its characteristics and features. The typography part of the logo is based on the teeth and sharp fins of the Anglerfish, whilst the visual elements focus on the creatures luminous lure attached to front spine of its anterior dorsal fin.
As well as this, I implemented a visual style reminiscent of the logo to three pieces of collateral: a website, a set of business cards and a letterhead.
